Lies of P was a good game, one of the few instances of me playing a Souls-like outside of the main titles and with the bizarre mix of Pinocchio and Steampunk Horror it created a very memorable experience. At the end of the game, spoilers by the way, an after-credits scene showed a mysterious girl with red shoes clicking her heels together and disappearing, clearly Wizard of Oz inspired.
Well it seems our suspicions were confirmed correct recently. The publisher behind Lies of P recently trademarked an interesting title in the EU, ‘Wonders of O’, which is very clearly a nod to Oz yet again. So it seems as though they are aiming to create souls-like experiences for various famous old and fairytale stories, an interesting and fun premise that I can’t wait to sink my teeth into. I can already see the Tin Man boss fight where he becomes a giant mecha… what a world video games allow us to envision.
That’s all for now, and as always. It’s not just a game, It’s a Life.
