I didn’t actually realise that the past weekend was the replacement stream-filled hole that E3 used to occupy, and so loads of game announcements were made just as I was finishing off my Deltarune review, what terrible timing. Regardless, I can summarise for you, well, at least this one and the xbox one as those were the only ones I really cared about. Anyway, let’s see what I found interesting from the Summer Game Fest 2025.
First off, new Resident Evil! That was a surprise. Resident Evil Requiem looks to be taking us back to Raccoon City, or at least what’s left of it. I got Twin Peaks vibes from this entry, so I’d be curious to see what route they take the horror in this entry. Next up, a new Scott Pilgrim beat’em up game! I never thought we’d see another jab at this considering the legal issues of the original game, but with visuals as satisfying as the first game I’m glad to see we are still getting these. We got a full release date for Yacht Club’s next game, Mina the Hollower, which looks to be as wonderful as the Zelda games that inspired it. Will it live up to the acclaim of Shovel Knight? Guess we will have to see.
Next of interest to me, in a really shocking and bizzare reveal, Atomic Heart of all games is getting a sequel. Not only that, but it’s also getting an MMO RPG Spin-off game too set in the same universe. The trailer is a bizzare thing to behold, space whales and all, and I certainly wasn’t expecting this game to get any kind of sequel, but here we are I suppose. Finally, Square Enix and Tactic Studios gave us a brief announcement of a new game they are making together called Killer Inn, which is apparently some form of ‘social deduction’ game, whatever that means. Lot sof puzzle solving and dialogue methinks, and I’ll be interested to see just how inspired by novels it is.
In terms of my personal interest, that’s all that came from this one. Of course there were plenty more announcements, so be sure to check out the official stream for more details on everything that was shown off. Tomorrow will be the Xbox summary, expect plenty of interesting things to say from that. That’s all for now, and as always. It’s not just a game, It’s a Life.
