It seems as though another big data leak has occurred and this time it concerns Game Freak, the developers of the Pokemon series. A huge amount of information was stolen from their servers and while this includes worrying and seedy things such as employee information, passwords, emails and such it also gave us a whole bunch of unseen and interesting beta designs and information.
It included things such as unused original sprites from the Gen 3 pokemon games, concept art of both the games and the anime, hilarious pokemon-versions of classic Japanese folk tales that make the pokemon Typlosion into something that likes kids a bit TOO much, and even the leaked pitch for a Detective Pikachu sequel movie. The whole leak is a treasure trove of information which dataminers and archivers will no doubt enjoy for weeks to come, but I can’t be comfortable with it knowing all the personal info that was put out onto the dark web too. Hopefully nothing comes of it and we just get some cool unseen game info, but this is the internet, so we shall unfortunately have to wait and see…
That’s all for now, and as always. It’s not just a game, It’s a Life.
