Another month and another Nintendo Direct comes around with quite the few interesting announcements this time that are sure to make a lot of people happy, here are just a few of the announcements.
They started off with a pretty big (and quite frankly inevitable) reveal of Overwatch finally coming to the Switch. This is a pretty massive game to finally be getting a portable version so I’m sure there are plenty of people who are excited about that. We also got news on Game Freak’s newest RPG, Little Town Hero, which apparently has a score composed by Undertale creator Toby Fox which has suddenly peaked my interest a lot more.
Speaking of Game Freak we also got some new Pokemon info including the reveal of the customisation features for our trainers and some new Pokemon such as a haunted teapot called Polteageist (love that name). There was an announcement that the Switch’s online selection of classic games will now include SNES games which is sure to make that subscription a little bit better of a deal. Now just to wait for N64 games for me to get really excited. Deadly Premonition is getting both a remaster and a sequel on the Switch and if you don’t know why this is both a terrifying and amazing thing then please educated yourself and look up this… interesting game. Also Xenoblade Chronicles is getting a remaster on the Switch which is sure to please fans of that game series.
Of course they also told us about new Smash Bros content including the fact that the latest fighter, Banjo and Kazooie are available right now! You can imagine that I will be playing smash for the rest of the day due to this fact. We also got shown a new fighter, Terry Bogarth from the Fatal Fury series. Personally I’ve never heard of him but it’s nice to see some more non-nintendo representation in Smash. Finally they also revealed that although the initial plan was to include five DLC fighters they are actually working to add even more into the game although they won’t come bundled with the initial fighter’s pass. Personally I’m ok with this as I am at least getting the five characters I was promised in my initial purchase although I can imagine some people will be upset by this fact. But hey we’re getting even more Smash content so I am certainly not going to complain about that!
There were of course many more announcements during this direct so if you want to know about all of them go check out the full video and see what else tickles your fancy. That’s all for now, and as always. It’s not just a game, It’s a Life.
