Google recently decided to throw their hat into the ring of the gaming world by announcing a brand new service that they will be testing out soon called ‘Project Stream’.
The idea is fairly simple, instead of buying a super powerful PC or games console you instead stream high quality games from google’s servers via their chrome browser. This let’s their servers and powerful rigs handle all the processing power and you simply need to have a good and stable enough internet connection to stream the gameplay onto your system.
The idea is certainly a novel one and with their first test being Assassin’s Creed Odyssey it will be a big moment for them and will determine whether or not this technology may turn out to be the fabled ‘Netflix of Gaming’ or if it will be a massive tech flop like their Google Glass project turned out to be. Either way while I can’t take part in the test due to not living in America I am certainly excited to see what others think of this new idea. We can only hope this brings about a new age of gaming.
That’s all for now, and as always. It’s not just a game, It’s a Life.
