It’s no secret that I’m a huge lover of necromancy. Hell I wrote an entire book on the subject! As such it’s good to know that there are plenty of games on the market that let me fulfill my dream of becoming an undead overlord and sending waves of skeletons to destroy my foes. But here’s something that you might not consider… what about the logistics of it all? Well that’s where this fun little game comes into play, Dividends and Decay!
To describe this in simple terms it’s basically just a roleplaying accounting game where you get given a google document that contains all of the logistical parts of running an undead army such as spell costs, weapons management, travel expenses etc and are told to sort it all out so that the necromancer can get back to work conquering the world! Now this all sounds a bit silly yes but it’s a fun wee experience that can test your excel knowledge and helps to really showcase the capabilities of the mediums that video games can use in order to provide an entertaining experience, even through the simple usage of a couple of spreadsheets!
