Our Special Place (A Silent Hill 2 Stage Show)

Well hey, free admission!

A little known fact about me is that I enjoy stage productions, me and my wife end up going to the Edinburgh Fringe every year just to see the variety of shows available. So when I heard that some genius decided to make a stage show based off Silent Hill 2 you can bet I was interested to know about it.

Niko Wilkins, a university student at the Virginia Commonwealth University, decided to put on this show back in September and, while it is based on Silent Hill 2, it’s actually its own production known as ‘Our Special Place. Obviously this means quite a few details are different, such as the removal of Pyramid Head, the most well know character from the game, but it seemingly was received very well and got a lot of people interested in the game. It’s always great to see stories like this come out and really proves just how you don’t need to be into games to appreciate a story told from one. I hope this becomes a show that comes over to the Fringe next year, I’d love to see it!

That’s all for now, and as always. It’s not just a game, It’s a Life.
