Darkest Dungeon is a beloved indie game that, whilst it did get a sequel, continues to be beloved and in many cases preferred by fans. It’s a shame when a second game fails to impress and people stick to the original, but in those circumstances, you end up with weird situations like this.
The first Darkest Dungeons is getting a new DLC years after it seemingly had finished, ‘The Fire’s Edge’, which brings 2 classes from the sequel, The Runaway and The Duelist, to the first game alongside new items, gameplay changes and more. The only other example I can think of with a company releasing DLC for an original game rather than the currently existing sequel is the Warlock DLC for Diablo 2 before it eventually came to 4. It’s an odd choice, but one that make sense once you realise that most big fans of the series still vastly prefer to play the first game over the second. Still, it’s a weird situation, but an interesting one to talk about at least. The Fire’s Edge will come to all platforms on August 18th, so if you’ve been looking for an excuse to do another run then here’s your answer.
That’s all for now, and as always. It’s not just a game, It’s a Life.
