In a big series of reveals by CD Projekt Red they have confirmed that a new Trilogy of Witcher games is currently in pre-development alongside a sequel to Cyberpunk 2077. The new Trilogy, while not revealing much, will probably be years away and they have stated they wish to include some form of Multiplayer into the series, though they have not said in what way.
Now while this does ring some alarm bells to many, including me, the best way I could see them going about this is by having the new games work in a pseudo-mmo way by allowing you to create your own character and share a world with others. We’ve seen before by the likes of The Witcher 3 that the developers certainly know how to create a large and vibrant world so having something like that set in an MMO would be a great move. I just don’t know if I trust CD Projekt Red enough yet to actually pull it off. I guess we will just have to see what the future holds.
