Into a Slipstream

Bit of an odd name

Many have been wondering exactly if the concept of a yearly Call of Duty experience is over now due to the breakout success and continues support of Call of Duty: Warzone which is seemingly what Activision-Blizzard has been focusing on when it comes to the IP. Well if a rumour from a Blizzard client tracker is to be believed then we may very well see another proper entry into the series and it may even be a return to form.

From tracking the battle.net client a user was able to notice on an encrypted build of the client that was remotely uploaded this interesting looking logo you see above alongside the term “Call of Duty 2021” which is a pretty clear cut example of confirmation. The name Slipstream and the particular font used is leading people to believe that this may in fact be a World War 2 shooter which would take the series back again to the roots that it started with which considering the long-term success and stranglehold Warzone has may be the smartest move as it’s clear that there isn’t really a need for another modern shooter while they still have Warzone in their grasp and as such having a completely different setting for a new entry may be the best way for it to differentiate itself. I guess we will just have to wait and see what is eventually announced this year!

That’s all for now, and as always. It’s not just a game, It’s a Life.
