The Simpsons Hit and Run has been a long beloved game for those of us young enough not to enjoy the 3D GTA games when they first came out, a child-friendly version of it certainly helped a lot of us form great memories of committing our first ever traffic violation.
The nostalgia for this game is so much actually that many have wanted to see a remaster of it. Now a fan project for a full remaster is in the works, however Matt Groening, the original showrunner, stated in a random comment that he thinks we will see the game again in some form or another, to which the current showrunner denies. It’s possible that Matt just isn’t quite up to date on the current planned projects for The Simpsons, however there’s always the possibility that the studio want to ride the waves of nostalgia to pick up this game again and make some money. I guess we will just have to wait and see at present!
