Gone Origins

See you never Origin…

EA have announced that their old PC Client Software, EA Origin, is being discontinued from April of this year due to Microsoft cutting support for 32-bit software. I think most can agree that the various publisher-owned distribution and game running softwares were quite pointless and just led to annoying and frustrating roadblocks being placed upon those who just wanted to play their EA Games. Now that it seems most publishers agree that Steam is the way to go, it’s no surprise that most of these old pieces of software are closing down.

Now that’s not to say EA don’t have another version of this. Their ‘EA App’ basically does the same thing, but slightly differently, and therefore it seems they still haven’t fully learned their lesson that on PC it’s essentially Steam or bust. Maybe it will take another decade or so for them to realise this and shut down their additional software for good. Anyway, say goodbye to EA Origin, I guess, not sure who exactly will be missing it.

That’s all for now, and as always. It’s not just a game, It’s a Life.
