So Elden Ring is a pretty big topic right now for good reason, and in an interesting interview the series creator, Hidetaka Miyazaki, was approached with the concept of a TV show based on Elden Ring. He stated that he wouldn’t have the skill for something like that and it would have to be someone else that would assist in that matter.
Enter George R.R. Martin who helped design some of the background lore for the original game. On his blog he was asked about the same question and, in a roundabout way, stated that he totally had no idea about anything to do with a TV show… So yeah he knows something.
As a concept the idea of Elden Ring being adapted as a TV show would be a huge boost for sales and publicity, just look at what it did to Fallout. However, I personally can’t see Elden Ring working on a different medium. The story is deliberately vague and ominous and having it verbally or visually explained to us would ruin the grandeur in many ways. Not to mention of course the difficulties in portraying the Tarnished and how the general story progression would work. I feel like a TV appearance would be more detrimental than anything, then again I would have said the same thing about Fallout and look how that turned out. Guess we will see if anything comes about from this, I somehow have my doubts.
That’s all for now, and as always. It’s not just a game, It’s a Life.
