Well, it’s official. After years of the ESA attempting to revive the biggest gaming convention around following the disastrous few years for the event following the pandemic it seems as though E3 is now officially gone for good. I’ve been speculating this for a quite a while but to see it now officially confirmed as no longer happening anymore is… a bit sad.
Sure, the event was essentially just big businesses attempting to convince you to buy things but there was so much culture and excitement surrounding these events that it’s a bit sad to see it go. However with the continued popularity of announcement streams and things like the Summer Game Fest I suppose this was almost inevitable. Regardless, an era of the gaming industry has just ended. May it rest in all of its slightly awkward and cringey ways.
