I’ve been tricked! Deceived! That’s no monkey, that’s a hamster! It turns out that the next Overwatch hero was indeed Hammond but everything is completely different.
Firstly, as you can see, Hammond is a hamster. Not just that but his actual name is Wrecking Ball due to the mech that he pilots (also yeah he’s super intelligent hamster, forgot to mention that). He’s a big, bulky tank that rolls around the battlefield and fires twin cannons at his enemies. Not only that but he can also deploy a massive amount of person shields to defend himself and can create a minefield for his ultimate. It seems that a lot of his abilities are based on movement and momentum so he should be a hero that requires a lot of skill.
His origin story is insane too. Being from the Horizon Lunar Colony just like Winston he hitched a ride on his escape pod and crashed in Australia, just outside Junkertown. He used his mechanical expertise to create his mech, called it Wrecking Ball, and proceeded to win the mech fighting arena in the city. Now he travels the world looking for fun adventures and more fights. This is such a bizzare idea that I love it. I’m looking forward to getting the chance to play him, let’s see just how he fits into the meta!
