So I just recently discovered an interesting documentary made by HBO known as “We Met in Virtual Reality” which follows the lives of several people who met and live a good portion of their lives entirely in the world of VRChat, the popular VR social platform game that every ‘metaverse’ wishes it was.
The documentary itself follows couples, people who do things such as host virtual teaching environments and generally shows an interesting side to those who spend a lot of time in this game as people who maybe don’t get on as well interacting with others in the real world. The documentary however does tend to shy away from important issues facing the platform of VRChat itself such as a lack of moderation for content and the general feeling of lawlessness within the community but it’s still an interesting watch that if you’re interested in VR or Virtual Spaces at all then I encourage you to check it out. Just be prepared for the furries, there’s a lot of them.
That’s all for now, and as always. It’s not just a game, It’s a Life.
