In a recent big celebration event developer Jagex announced the reveal of Runescape 4, the latest MMO to currently be in development by them and stated to be the biggest they’ve ever worked on. There wasn’t details revealed aside from the above screenshot and trailer released but it seems to be going for the cartoon-esque visual style of Runescape 3 and will be developed primarily on the Unreal Engine.
Not much else at present, though Runescape is in a bit of a weird situation for their releases currently anyway as whilst their current, main supported title is Runescape 3 the old school original Runescape is still easily the most popular, mainly because many see the newer games as just a cash grab. So we’ll see what happens with this one… hopefully AI won’t be used to make it!
