As someone who was really big into the original Overwatch during its initial years I became immediately intrigued when I found out about ‘Marvel Rivals’, a third-person hero shooter using Marvel characters that just started a closed beta.
From the gamneplay and visuals I have seen so far it’s very obvious that NetEase are trying to evoke the classic Overwatch days, hell the maps they show off in gameplay trailers look suspiciously like beloved Overwatch maps. Still, with Overwatch in a pretty bad shape currently this may be the game to dethrone it. It has the big name IP behind it so if anything has the chance to do it this may be the one. Let’s just hope the microtransactions aren’t too bad… You can find the game on Steam right here.
