As I sit here with a hot water bottle on my lap and a blanket around my shoulders I know that my favourite type of weather is here, the unrelenting cold of snowy covered lands. I enjoy the aesthetics, the biting chill and the fact I can go inside, sit by a fire and feel that dichotomy of cold and heat. I also love experiencing these things in games, with some of my favourite gaming environments being ones based in snowy locations. Think the Mountain Village from Majora’s Mask, or Snowbound in Halo 3. My question to all of you, what is your favourite cold area in games? Do you have any that make you feel the biting chill just by looking at them? If so, let us know as I love seeing snow in my games!
