It seems I’ve been very focused on indie games this week so I suppose talking about another wouldn’t hurt!
I’ve been playing a lot of Skul: The Hero Slayer on the Xbox Game Pass recently and have been having an absolute blast with the game. For those that don’t know the game is essentially a rogue-like hack n’ slash platformer that sees you playing as a small skeleton that must defeat an invading human empire. You do this by normal combat means but you can also swap out your head to that of another skull that gives you new powers and stats. You can do things such as turning into a skeletal werewolf, a ghost knight, a small Ent and loads more choices.
I’ve been having a great time with this system as the combat is smooth and responsive, the graphics are pretty and the game is suitably hard for a rogue-like. For fans of the genre I’d definitely give it a recommendation so consider this a small review of what I feel about the game. And as I said it’s also available on the Game Pass so if you have that then this is definitely something worth considering!
That’s all for now, and as always. It’s not just a game, It’s a Life.
