Cheating is a difficult subject to talk about when it comes to the video game scene as there are so many definitions and meanings that it becomes almost impossible to define what truly is cheating.
I bring this up because Fallout 76 has started doing a strange technique in order to lift bans on certain cheaters. Specifically to certain forum-goers who complained about being banned the only way they would lift their bans was if they submitted an essay to them explaining why cheating was bad.
Now normally this would be a funny situation however because it’s Fallout 76 of course this has to be surrounded by controversy. This is due to the fact that several players have been banned for seemingly no reason which has led some to believe that the people asking for their bans to be lifted are in fact innocent bystanders. Whether this is the case or not is of course up for debate however if Bethesda aren’t truly sure about this then serving up cruel and unusual punishments is not the best way to go about it. So goes the story of cheating being a difficult subject as if they are cheating then maybe they deserve this but what if they weren’t? The evidence will simply have to back them up.
