Disney recently announced an incredible $1.5 Billion investment into games company Epic Games and specifically notes their interest in collaborating with their biggest cash cow, Fortnite. Disney’s statement reads like someone who wants to create a metaverse product asd they wish to focus on collaborative efforts to ensure most of their IP’s are represented in the gaming sphere.
This is one of the biggest investments Disney has ever made, but curiously we don’t actually know how much of Epic Games Disney has a say over now. Is this essentially a soft buyout? We just don’t know at this point. All I’ll say is, get ready to see a lot more superheroes in Fortnite… and that’s already saying something.
