According to some interesting insider interviews there was originally going to be a remaster of Bloodborne that would have brought it to PC, however the studio that Sony looked into possibly doing it, Bluepoint, upon asking FromSoft for permission to give it a go were turned down as the game’s director, Hidetaka Miyazaki, stated that if they ever were to give it a remaster they would want to do it themselves as the game is very much of his original vision and he wants to control how it would be seen in a remake.
Fair enough I suppose, it’s no secret that the Demon Souls remaster was a controversial one for all of the artistic and visual changes it made compared to the original product. Regardless, it is very strange that Sony haven’t at least approved of a simple PC port of the game as they know it would sell extremely well. Perhaps they just want to only do a PC version with a remaster to avoid crossover of projects and possibly lost sales. Makes sense, but still, it’s the one game I most want ported to PC so I can finally give the game a go and see what all the fuss is about. I just hope they come to an agreement soon, I need me my Yharnam fix.
