Sony are making some big moves as recent rumours suggests that they may be looking to acquire the parent company of beloved game developer FromSoftware known as ‘Kadokawa Corporation’. They own multiple game studios, including Chunsoft and Acquire (who make the Octopath Traveller games by the way!) and as such this purchase may be a huge buy for the company and would bring a lot of big game franchises under their wing.
It also brings about a sense of dread as Sony has been notoriously picky with allowing their games onto PC (See Bloodborne and Demon’s Souls) and as such this move may lock out a lot of people from these excellent franchises, FromSoftware games especially. As stated, these are just rumours currently, but we will see what happens in future and if this ends up actually going ahead. Please be nice sony… I just got into these types of games…
