Skype is being taken offline by Microsoft, what a sad event. This was announced a few months ago, but now the trigger has been pulled and Skype is no mopre in favour of Microsoft Teams.
For those who are maybe too young to know (god I feel old) Skype was a messaging and call service that gave all the usual functions you would expect. I used it a tonne back in the day, and while many including myself eventually ended up switching over to Discord for all our gaming related calls and chats, it’s still sad to see something I have so many memories of gone for good now. You can still transfer your Skype conversations and data over to Teams if you wish, but that’s if it is still stored locally and you connect your accounts together, which I imagine many of you have not. At least we still have other services, but this is a sad one that is now gone. Many conversations, many talks about games and all other subjects, I even talked to my wife via Skype! Goodbye you blue-tinted messenger, I won’t forget the memories.
