Ubisoft have confirmed after much speculation that they are indeed remaking one of their earlier Assassin’s Creed titles, presumably because they don’t really know where to take the series now. Interestingly however, they’re starting off with 4 of all games, Black Flag. This is the pirate-centered one which everyone adored due to it really focusing on the ship combat mechanics from the third game and refining it to perfection.
Now I haven’t played Black Flag, I haven’t actually played past Assassin’s Creed 2, but I do find it funny that Ubisoft have honed in on the fact that the game most people enjoyed was one in which you play primarily a pirate rather than an assassin. Seems rather ironic for a series with that name. Regardless, the game doesn’t have a release date yet, but it does have a name, Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced, so we shall see how this remake pans out and how much they truly changed.
