Phil Spencer, Microsoft Gaming’s current CEO is set to retire this summer with Asha Sharma set to take over their position, who previously worked in Microsoft’s AI division. Now that might start ringing alarm bells for most people, but apparently Asha has stated that they won’t be ushering in a new AI focused plan for Microsoft Gaming, however as we all know those are just words, and we’ll see if that actually pans out.
Phil has been with Microsoft for 40 years so it’s understandable that he wishes to retire now. He’s been the main focus of the company ever since the newest console generations were in focus. While he hasn’t exactly remained a popular figurehead in the gaming community, he is at least responsible for the Xbox Game Pass, which for me has been huge, so I have respect for the guy. I wish him the best for his retirement, hopefully everything doesn’t go downhill in the coming years.
That’s all for now, and as always. It’s not just a game, It’s a Life.
