One of the biggest advantages of having games that were originally console exclusives come to PC is that it unshackles them from the console producer and lets players enjoy games without needing to deal with all the pernickety stuff that comes from using a console. Sony disagreed however, as for the longest time you had to use a Playstation PSN Account when playing their games on PC, making the idea of keeping away from using their services kind of pointless.
It seems Sony has relented now though, as they announced that you no longer need to have and use a PSN account to play their games on Steam, huzzah! Now you still CAN use your accounts, and it gives you access to bonus features and such, but for those wanting to get all that pesky stuff out of the way this is a great win. I just hope this transition to PC gaming continues and we see the console market take a back seat, next up will be Nintendo… yeah right…
