We are once again graced with another round of mass-layoffs in the gaming industry for the elusive idea of infinite growth. This time it’s Epic Games and it’s funny how having what is perhaps one of the most successful games on the planet is still not enough to keep staff in their jobs. Over 1000 people were let go across the company, and as such many of the remaining staff have no idea of the future of their projects such as Fortnite. At present, we don’t know the true scale of how this will impact on things, but all that is for certain is that a lot of talented people have lost their jobs and no doubt investors and CEOs will still consider this a success for company growth. The world keeps turning, the rich keep winning. Such as it is unforutnately.
