Elden Ring was announced as coming to Switch 2, and with this wwas getting a new edition known as the ‘Tarnished’ edition, which as it turns out is a free update that is also coming to the original game. They announced that new weapons and armor would be coming to the game, but we didn’t know what else at the time. Now we have a wee bit more context, as we now have something concretely new that was shown off at a press event in Tokyo, new classes!
The ‘Knight of Ides’ and ‘Heavy Knight’ as they are currently known show off a more sleek playstyle with light greatswords (interestingly something you normally can’t get access too until the DLC) and of course a tankier playstyle with bigger 2-handed weapons. Alongside the new items this is all we know thus far, but this brings up the question of is this will change fundemental things in the world space, like bringing DLC weapon types into the main game or balance changes. We don’t know, all I know is that I may have a reason to boot up Elden Ring again, even when Nightreign comes out. Plenty of FromSoft experiences for me!
