One of the most bizzare choices that FromSoft made with regards to Elden Ring: Nightreign was the choice to force players into three man teams or solo play with no choice to play with two players. While I understand the balance reasoning in terms of making bosses mechanically feel as though they should be fought with three players the fact that solo is still an option and enemies are scaled down accordingly is just strange.
Lucky then that mods come to save the day. Enter the Seamless co-op mod, a familiar name if you’ve done modding with Elden Ring as it was the most popular mod for that game and was seemingly an inspiration for this new title. The mod in question just does one simple change, create a seperate save file that allows you to play with two players instead of three. Scalings haven’t changed, as that would require a whole bunch of balance choices and tweaks that the modder hasn’t implemented yet, but this just proves that two players is possible, and it just seems strange that FromSoft didn’t so this. If you want to just play with a singular friend, then check out the mod at this link.
That’s all for now, and as always. It’s not just a game, It’s a Life.
