This may be the most devastating cancellation of a game I can think of for myself in recent memory. The long awaited sequel to the beloved Hypnospace Outlaw, Dreamsettler, has been cancelled due to the scope and ambition of the game making it too big and too financially unstable to actually complete, meaning that unfortunately all the hard work the devs put into the project is left by the wayside.
Not everything is lost though, as the devs have been sharing snippets of the stuff they made and are looking for some way to release fun minigames and such they made for the project, but otherwise we’ve lost one of my most anticipated indie games to come out this year. I wish the team well, and it’s truly sad that the project has come to a close mainly because of money, but such is the way of the modern world unfortunately. Hopefully something can come from this, as I’d hate to see such talent go to waste.
That’s all for now, and as always. It’s not just a game, It’s a Life.
