People are back on the Half Life 3 train, claiming that its announcement is nigh, I somehow have my doubts, but let’s look at what is being said.
Firstly, with the next Game Awards coming in the next few weeks it would certainly be a killer time to make an announcement, with TGA essentially becoming the new E3 for announcements. Second, with the big celebration of Halo Life 2’s anniversary last year it’s clear that Half Life is on the mind at Valve, and I mean the ending of Alyx essentially confirmed they’re working on it anyway, so it’s not too insane to think something is in the works. Finally, with the announcement of the Steam Machine many people think a form of ‘exclusive’ to the PC/Console hybrid would go a huge way in selling units, which is indeed a good idea, though considering a PC Exclusive isn’t exactly a huge thing it’s unlikely they would be banking solely on this. Regardless, people are hyped, and if something does come up I’m happy to eat my own words. We will wait and see, as usual.
