Baba is You is one of the most unique and fun puzzle games I’ve played in recent memory. Being essentially a 2D side-scrolling puzzle game that lets you play with the game mechanics itself I actually struggled to finish it because of how complicated it became. Nevertheless, it was a lovely experience, and shockingly almost seven years after it came out the devs are releasing a final big update for it.
This mostly focuses on mod support, but also comes with a couple new levels and new words to be used to switch up the gameplay, these being become, facedby, hold, happy, angry. Modders and custom level designers have made seriously impressive work with the suite of possible mod and custom tools available for this cute game, so it’s exciting to think about what new things will be made. It reminds me a bit of the Hat in Time modding scene, an excellent base game with a passionate audience giving it a longer shelf life.
