With good news in the gaming industry, it seems to unfortunately also come with bad news as information surrounding the full demake of Bloodborne on PC, turning it into a PS1-looking game, is rather grim. The game’s creator, the same person making Nightmare Kart, has taken down their download links to the PS1 Demake as according to them a company working on behalf of Sony were about to issue a takedown themselves, and thus they decided to be proactive about it.
Stuff like this really pisses me off. Yes Sony are well within their rights to protect their IP, but this is a free fan project that not only an incredible amount of work has gone into but is so obviously detached from the original game, being a PS1 imitation game after all, that you can’t even say it works to try and replace the original work. At least Nightmare Kart is doing well I suppose… and maybe this means that there is a chance Bloodborne is coming to PC soon. Who knows though, and I for one hope that the creator of this fantastic work gets a chance to show off their stuff in another capacity, they’ve certainly earned it.
