I love Animal Crossing as much as the next coxy gamer, but as it turns out I’ve never completed a full playthrough of the original Animal Crossing on the Gamecube. I’ve played it before, in fact I remember playing it extensively at a trade show in London when I was little, but now might be a good time for me to give it a real whirl.
The talented folk at the AC Decompilation project have successfully ported over a version of the original Animal Crossing to PC, a link to which can be found right here. Now this is still a work in progress, and is a lot more on-hands than other decompilation projects, but regardless seeing Animal Crossing playing natively on PC is a surreal sight to behold. So if you want to see where this all started, then give this project a look. You may start to appreciate all the things that came later.
