A new Star wars game is going to be officially fully revealed this weekend, and this time the studio behind it, Bit Reactor, is aiming for the Strategy crowd. Named as ‘Star Wars Zero Company’ it aims to be a tactical grid-based strategy game similar in gameplay style to something like XCOM and will also center around a crew of characters you play as, pictured above.
Aside from that, don’t know too much else. The rest of the details should be revealed on April 19th at the Star wars Celebration event in Japan. Now as an XCOM fan am I excited for this? Maybe, though it depends on how the game is structured and handles escalating threats. As we are all most likely intimately aware of the Star Wars universe I can’t see it pulling many surprising events or reveals at me like a game of XCOM would, but I am willing to bite my tongue until I see some actual gameplay. At least it has laser guns… that’s like XCOM right?
