It seems I may have missed quite a bit in March, and the fact that Painkiller, a beloved smaller-scale shooter from the mid 2000’s that was a fun romp with unique and interesting weapons, is getting a full Reboot later this year. The reboot in question looks A LOT like Doom 2016, which is probably either a sign of much improvement, or a lack of innovation depending on who you are talking to. Regardless, new trailers at least show that the game is taking the weapons of the original game seriously, though I’m not sure if that will be enough to carry the game. Still, it’s out later this year, so I’m willing to give it the benefit of the doubt and see how it is when it’s actually released. Let’s just hope this ends up being an actually good reboot this time.
