HBO have announced that they will be producing a TV Show based on the Baldur’s Gate games, with the creators behind The Last of Us TV adaptation taking the reigns as the show’s creator. It will be set after the events of Baldur’s Gate 3 and, from the events that take place in that game, we can assume that the TV show will focus on a new group of characters, though I can imagine familiar faces may return for cameos.
Now there is some skepticism surrounding this project, mainly due to the fact that Larian, the studio who made Baldur’s Gate, is not exactly involved with this and is only being given a consulting role, and that considering the dip in quality for the second season of The Last of Us people are unsure as to how this will actually turn out. However, I still stand that the first season is one of the best TV Video Game Adaptations of all time and so I’m willing to give this a chance. I better actually play the game first though, I’ll get there one day!
