Yes yes I’m going to be talking about Oblivion Remastered again, I promise I’ll try not to do so too much! This time I wanted to talk about the fact that the game has successfully done something I didn’t think possible, it has maintained the jank of the original game. This is something I was really worried about as I consider Oblivion to be one of the best examples of the of the ‘So Bad It’s Good’ effect in gaming, and I thought that smoothing out the edges and making the game more polished would in turn ruin this, boy was I wrong.
I’ve seen wonderful monstrosities created in the character creator as can be seen above, I’ve seen NPC’s talking to each other in the middle of the market square and all crowding around each other getting stuck in dialogue loops, I’ve seen someone talking to me while pouring a drink into their face and even, of course, funny ragdolls. All these things I’m shocked to say have been maintained in this game, and I couldn’t be happier for it. Truly, this is a remaster that understand the original game, praise to the devs for all their hard work.
That’s all for now, and as always. It’s not just a game, It’s a Life.
