Short and Delicious

Bring me more toppings!

I’ve finished my first playthrough of Pizza Tower, with another to follow suite before DOOM comes out, and I must say, this was a really enjoyable experience. The game was clearly made with a lot of love, attention to detail and care, showing the incredibly hard work that the devs did to make such an enjoyable experience. Yet, despite this, I finished the game within a span of about 5-6 hours, and I still think it absolutely is worth your money and time and is a great game, many would wonder how I think such a short game is worthy of being compared to multi-hundred hour experiences. Simple, I think we should have shorter games.

Now that’s not to say I think we should start stripping out content to make a game’s run time shorter, or to not put in as much effort as we would with a full experience, instead I think we should focus on quality over quantity. It’s like what I said in my ENA: Dream BBQ review, that game can be finished in only a couple of hours, but it’s still one of the most enjoyable gaming experiences I’ve had this year. Short games that are lovingly made with a lot of replayability in mind can last a lot longer than multi-hundred hour experiences, and Pizza Tower is an excellent example of that. So ultimately, I think we should have shorter games, but make them more packed full of stuff to really show off the impressive skills of the devs. Smaller, but more flavourful, just like a slice of Peppino’s famous deep dish pizza!

That’s all for now, and as always. It’s not just a game, It’s a Life.
