I wonder, do any of you like to perform experiments/perform the scientific method in games? What I mean by this is trying to work out through game mechanics what the best things are or how things work and apply things like control tests, lab conditions and record findings. I tend to do this quite a lot with games that focus on stats like RPG’s or MMO’s. In fact, the game I think perhaps I’ve experimented the most with would be Warframe as I love going into the simulacrum and trying out builds, weapons and all sorts of things. It’s not even just making the biggest numbers though, sometimes it’s about feel. I like to test what playstyles I enjoy the most, which mechanics are the most fun, or even sometimes how I can best make a build that plays the game as easily as possible without much effort on my part. There’s a lot that goes into these things, and I enjoy it as part of my daily game playing, but I’m very curious if other people tend to do this too.
That’s all for now, and as always. It’s not just a game, It’s a Life.
