I don’t watch Anime, ironic considering how many other nerd stereotypes I cover, but Anime just wasn’t something I particularly cared for. I think the staples of the genre just annoyed me, so while I definitely enjoy games inspired by Anime (looking at you Persona!) I don’t actually watch it myself. I decided to make an exception however, ‘Solo Leveling’, because for those that know it’s a story about a Necromancer, of course that would be the thing to get me into this genre!
Now it’s certainly up my alley (mainly from season 2 onwards though) I can identify the fact that this is the exact stuff that most anime consists of. Pointless ‘video game-ifying’, deep breaths, re-used facial expressions, it’s all there. For me however, the necromancy and enjoyable visuals carry it for me. So I guess this is me recommending an Anime to watch, what has the world truly come to.
