Time for random fun facts! If you don’t know what these are, the Nazca lines are one of the most famous historical landmarks in Peru and are well known the world over as giant pieces of art drawn in the Nazca Desert. Now to tie this into games, Yu-Gi-Oh! The card game has a series of monsters known as the ‘Earthbound Immortals’ which depict the Nazca Lines as if they were real deific monsters that rose up from the ground to fight their enemies. They’re a really cool design and one of the best ideas the game has had in terms of Archetype Design.
Well as it turns out, in the Anime, there was another unreleased Earthbound Immortal monster known as ‘Red Nova’ which essentially was depicted as a two-headed snake. Well, as it turs out, years after the show aired, a bunch of big sandstorms in the Nazca Desert revealed brand new Nazca Lines, and one of them just happened to be of a giant two-headed snake! What are the chances! So, are Yu-Gi-Oh designers secretly ancient civilisation worshipping cultists that are placing subliminal mesaging to get people to pay mroe attention to history and archeology, or just a strange coincidence, you decide! Although they do also like their Ancient Egypt…
That’s all for now, and as always. It’s not just a game, It’s a Life.
