I’m a nostalgic child of the 90’s and mid 2000’s, so of course I encountered and played extensively with a Bop It! If you are a young whippersnapper, then first get off my darn lawn! Second, Bop It’s were a strange toy that worked as a reaction test, asking you to grab various knobs and buttons on the device in time with commands and music as it got progressively quicker and harder. It was a silly time-wasting device and I loved it. It seems as though the original creators felt the same as, for some reason, in this modern age, instead of releasing a new model, they instead have created a video game so that you too can experience the sensation that is Bop It from the comfort of your computer chair, you weirdo.
Naturally, it’s called ‘Bop It! The Video Game’ and it allows you to try out the toy as it does all the normal features, but you use your mouse to do everything instead. It has co-op, online leaderboards and plenty of funky and 90’s inspired visuals to keep you entertained. I’m not too sure of the point of this, as the whole fun of the toy was… having it in your hands, but I guess if you want to entertain your stream chat for a few hours this seems like an excellent timewaster. Be sure to Bop until you just can’t stop! (Help me). A link to the game’s Steam page is right here, it’s a cheap enough game so feel free to buy it if it seems fun.
