Spreadsheet Data

Just look at all this info!

One thing that modern game culture seems to have brought about is the enjoyment of optimisation and streamlining. Things like tier lists and focused guides make learning about the games you play, even older ones, far more interesting an intricate. Even things like data-mining allows for people to get into the nitty gritty numbers of how a game system works and what is the best way to beat it.

That’s where my love for the game data spreadsheet comes in, such as the one pictures above for Elden Ring: Nightreign made by some very smart chaps. This actively breaks down the raw data and uses calculations, categories and even just clarifying information to make for a very detailed and useful bit of reference material. There’s even content creators that focus on this type of thing for different games, such as The Old Knight for Elder Scrolls games.

Now, does stuff liek this take away some of the mystery and charm of games as a whole? Absolutely, however for those that want to pursue games in this manner these are great tools and I enjoy reading through them and finding out what stacks with what, what information allows me to best streamline my gameplay experience and what makes me the strongest character possible. Or, maybe I’m just a big data nerd, either one!

Be sure to share some of your favourite game data spreadsheets below and lets build some knowledge! That’s all for now, and as always. It’s not just a game, It’s a Life.
