A Decaying Business Practice

Just imagine the smell…

It’s fair to say that Total War: Warhammer 3 has had a struggling history when it comes to its DLC as the last outing, Shadows of Change, set the entire community on fire and really made people lose a lot of faith when it comes to additional content to this game.

Perhaps however, as fickle as the powers of Chaos tend to be, things seem to be changing. We’ve known for a while that the next piece of DLC will focus on the Chaos God Nurgle and will be known as ‘Thrones of Decay’. However, recently, Creative Assembly made an announcement about how they would be changing up their pricing plan for this next piece of content and I quite like what they’ve come up with. As the DLC will focus on 3 factions; Nurgle, The Empire and Dwarves they will each receive new units, leaders and their own campaigns. As such, they’ve decided that instead of forcing you to buy all 3 at once, they will allow you to instead purchase each of the faction’s new content individually and bundle them all together as a cheaper option for a single price. It’s a smart idea as many people like to play individual factions and may not be interested in the other parts of the DLC, and thus this will make the content cheaper for them to buy.

Will it fix the system completely? We can’t be sure. What we can know however is that it’s a step in the right direction, and hopefully it will continue that way into the future. That’s all for now, and as always. It’s not just a game, It’s a Life.
