I recently experienced a strange phenomenon that I am curious if anyone else experiences from time to time. I recently picked up a game to try out, expecting it to be something I would really enjoy and would find myself playing for days on end. However, after trying it out for a wee while I eventually found myself dropping it and returning to another title that I was previously playing. There isn’t anything particularly wrong with the game itself, nor was there some form of breaking point, I just… didn’t really want to play it.
I attribute this to the idea of mild first impressions, trying it out and just deciding “oh… cool…” and then not giving it more thought than that. It’s a shame as it’s not like the game has done anything wrong, I just haven’t found it catching my attention is all.
