Now that I’ve finished Dark Souls 3 I find myself delving into the world of DS3 lore videos and trying to uncover the mysteries present within the game that I didn’t quite understand, which I absolutely love. I adore just watching videos that explain lore and theories about games I enjoy as it feels almost like a part of the intended experience, discussing it with others.
Now I do feel that games should explain themselves in-game and provide a cohesive narrative rather than expecting the player to do homework, however the mystery in some games certainly adds to the allure. The Dark Souls series in particular is excellent for this and while a more cleanly structures narrative may have helped I’m more than happy to speculate and examine all the things I missed in order to determine the true story. I just wonder if this is the same for anyone else, and so I ask all of you! Do you enjoy just watching extensive amounts of lore videos after finishing a big game? Let me know!
