I’m currently at one of the biggest art festivals in the world, the Edinburgh Fringe. At this festival many things are on offer but one of the things that caught my attention was Technology and VR experience. I immediately was curious and wow was it an experience.
There were two main experiences, the first was using a Gear VR headset to look at various movies and video experiences. This was my first ever taste at VR and while the experience is certainly interesting the lack of depth perception and buggyness didn’t bold too well for me. Then I got to try a HTC Vive and oh my god my mind was blown. Being able to walk around an actual virtual room doing painting and art and having the ability to physically walk through my art was staggering. I also did a simulated space walk which was a fantastic experience.
My girlfriend and I both did this experience and honestly it was incredible. We have now decided that in a few months time that we will consider getting a Vive ourselves, that’s just how good it was. It’s very expensive bit will it be worth it? I think so, especially because it means that I can review VR games for you all! Let’s hope I keep my promises! That’s all for now, and as always.
